14th of February is Valentines Day
Valentine’s Day has somewhere a connection with St.Valentines but I am not sure that many people make that connection at all. Even so it is celebrated in many countries it always seems to us more like a commercial idea. Not that there is anything wrong with spreading love, more the association between love and spending money on that day seems to be improper.
And who is Valentine’s Day really for?
Is it just for the young ones? They like to declare their love to someone they fancy, most likely with a secret card. Or for young couples who make the Valentine’s Day into a weekend away with chocolates, dinner and champagne? The pressure for a lot of man in the upcoming days to Valentine’s Day must be unbearable.
We like to think that Valentine’s Day could be a cherished day for any age, if we could spread our love, care and attention to a wider circle of family and friends. We could invite a friend who feels down; visit a lonely neighbour who might enjoy a chat or just do a good deed to someone who just deserves it.
Nothing is wrong with cards, chocolates and that very special dinner but we like to say: “We always like to show our love and care with a cuddly, cute and adorable Teddy Bear”.
