Help Us To Break Guinness World Record

We need your help! We have been asked by Dr.Helen O’Sullivan-Dwyer from The Caroline Foundation if Bear Essentials can help them to find 8000 teddy bears. Yes 8000 bears for the attempt of a Guinness World Record to form the longest line of teddy bears in Greystones, County Wicklow on SUNDAY 17th MAY 2015.

The Caroline Foundation (www.thecarolinefoundation.com) funds a research scientist, Dr Norma O’Donovan, on Professor John Crown’s Cancer Clinical Research Trust Programme. They  need to continue to raise funds to ensure that  Dr O’Donovan’s research be enabled to continue beyond December 2014 – to be given reasonable time to reap rewards.

Given the current statistics, that 1 in 3 people in Ireland will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and the fact that the number of diagnoses will double in next 20/30 years, CANCER RESEARCH matters to all of Irish society.

The Caroline Foundation relies on donations and for this event also on Teddy Bears. We have been asked to help because  Caroline’s Granddad represented Cavan in Dail Eireann for about 24 years, so we are not just have a Bear Connection but a Cavan one too.

Will you join us in making this happen? Bear Essentials, Bawnboy, Co.Cavan will be a drop off point for teddy bears and we will make sure that your bear will take part in the longest Teddy Bear Chain. If you in the position to donate also €10 to the charity please do this directly through their website or sign on the donation sheet.

We also asked the Caroline Foundation for certificates to give to children donating a bear, so they can be very proud of their participation. If you are a teacher and would like your school involved we might be able to collect the bears. Otherwise contact us via email to info@bearessentials.ie to arrange drop off.
