Easter Craft Workshop at Bear Essentials Ireland in County Cavan

Let’s celebrate Easter, a time of spring, happiness and enjoyment.

And what better way then to create and make the things yourself. Bear Essentials one day workshop is filled with sewing, cooking & baking, decorating and of course celebrating and enjoying our achievements.

Beside the hands-on experience and to learn from each other every child will have lots of things to bring home to share with family and friends.

We have ordered the whole range of 2010 Charlie Bears which will come in from end of February. We also ordered the new 2011 range and we are looking forward to receive the new 2011 Isabelle Collection.

Thank you very much for Freezy who arrived on December 23rd! We have introduced Freezy to Leo and they were delighted to see each other! Unfortunately none of the children were there as they had finished for the Christmas Holidays. We will however take photographs of Leo, the children and Freezy after January 10th when we come back to school.  Consider Freezy well in truly adopted!!! Thanks again! Yes we have got a winner! We are delighted for Cavan Kids to adopt Freezy for Christmas and he will meet up with his old friend Leo. It is the entry who got the most public votes and this was their story:

Every year we visit Anke at Bear Essentials! All of the Kavan Kids Montessori children visit and get to do lots of interesting things. This year we noticed a sad bear on the kitchen work top. Anke explained that Leo the Bear had been sent to South Africa to someone who had returned him. Leo was then left in the rain on Ankes door step and Ankes dogs ripped open his parcel and dragged him around. Leo did not want to go back to South Africa nor stay at Ankes. Anke asked Kavan Kids Montessori would we adopt Leo! We were all delighted! Leo now sits on a shelf in the Montessori looking after all the children here. He has come on Teddy Bear Picnics and has had a new Graduation Gown made to attend our Graduation. He sat proudly on the stage with all the children. Leo is now a happy Bear and is very much loved…..

Thanks to anyone who took part and we like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hopefully there will be a little bear under your Christmas tree.

We will add the last votes tonight and announce the winner of our competition by tomorrow morning. We would like the winner to come along and pickup Freezy themselves so that we can take a photograph of the new owner. I am sure Freezy will be very happy wherever he goes. Teddy Bear Freezy is just back from a walk.
He was looking for his friend who emigrated to Australia.
But of course he couldn’t find him.
Freezy is a stunning 54cm big German teddy bear. He loves nature, doesn’t mind cold weather and loves company.

Do you think you could give Freezy a new home?

The Roscommon County Play Day Family Event in Lough Key Forrest Park yesterday brought hundreds of visitors.
It is a fantastic place for families and offers lots to do. We were delighted to be part with our mobile teddy bear hospital and like to share the video with you.

The whole event made almost €1000 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Jack brought his dog Spot who got caught in a fence. We stitched him up and Louise gave him a good brushing.

We think he looks so real.

We had a great day with our Teddy Bear Hospital at Market Cross Shopping Centre Kilkenny on the 19th of June. The whole event raised €2785 for the Children’s Hospital Crumlin – regarding research into Diabetes in children.

The kids brought a lot of teddy bears for a check up and got involved in finding out what was wrong with teddy. We looked after the more severe cases and after they were fixed all were discharged on the day.

We enjoyed the day with kids and parents. Here are some images to share with you.

While we checked teddies heart beat, Craig had to check ours and mummy and daddy’s as well.

Next teddy bear hospital on Sunday the 4th of July from 2pm – 6pm at Lough Key Forrest Park near Boyle.
